Possible shortage of radioisotopes due to COVID-19

The international community is closely monitoring the potential shortages of radioisotopes supply as result to travel bans and limited medical resources, due to SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

Recently, SNNMI and Nuclear Medicine Europe have announced their members about potential disruptions of Mo-99 due to travel bans to and from South Africa.

The Emergency Response Team (ERT) is looking for alternative options to resume transportation from South Africa, which might include charter flights.
