nuclear medicine and radiopharmacy

  1. The Canadian College of Radiopharmaceutical Scientists (CCRS) is the self-governing organization for certification. It is a national non-profit organization, governed by established scientists in the field of radiopharmaceutical sciences, that certifies professionals working in the field of radiopharmacy.

  2. VirRAD Community: The aim of the VirRAD Community platform is to provide a sustainable, user-driven web-based interface which assists communication between all members of the worldwide Radiopharmaceutical community and helps them to:

    … expand their horizons
    … share their ideas
    … solve everyday difficulties
    … disseminate best practice
… develop innovative solutions to universal problems

in order to promote the continuing contribution of the specialty to science and health-care

  3. The Society of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (SRS) is an international society providing academic and intellectual support for radiopharmaceutical science. At the heart of all nuclear imaging, radiopharmaceutical science is the design, synthesis and evaluation of compounds containing suitable radionuclides that can be used in vivo to (trace) follow a particular physiological or biochemical phenomena.

  4. Walter Reed Army Medical Center: Lots information and interesting case studies. Also a section on Radiopharmacy (Nuclear Pharmacy) that is worth checking out.

  5. The Society of Nuclear Medicine: an international scientific and professional organization founded in 1954 to promote the science, technology and practical application of nuclear medicine. Its 15,000 members are physicians, technologists and scientists specializing in the research and practice of nuclear medicine. In addition to publishing journals, newsletters and books, the Society also sponsors international meetings and workshops designed to increase the competencies of nuclear medicine practitioners and to promote new advances in the science of nuclear medicine.

  7. First published in April 1997, this handbook contains lots of useful information, with a UK focus, on radiopharmaceuticals, associated quality control tests, supplier contacts, and a formulary

  9. The Whole Brain Atlas. More CT images than radionuclide images but the individual cases are interesting since you can pull down individual slices through the brain in an interactive manner or run the brain scans in cine mode. The cases with both radionuclide and MRI also show the use of superimposition where the images from the two methods are overlaid to give even more information.
